I was just thinkng to myself that ford uses a 3.8L in the ford mustang. I have a 2000 that I am currently selling. And I currently own a gp with the well known 3.8L. I am trying to figure out are they basically the same? Or is there some big difference? Anyone who knows alot about ford engines feel free to through an answer this way.

They are two very different motors. The only thing in common is they are 3.8L motors.

if memory serves me correctly ford no longer uses pushrods and gm still uses pushrods. Also I believe that ford's distributor is in the front of the engine and gm no longer uses a distributor. Ford Sucks! GM RULES! As far as internals and stroke and bore difference between the engines I have no idea.

FYI, Ford pretty much dissected the GM 3800 and copied it for their T-bird SC. It's not that different, but different enough.
