I was just thinkng to myself that ford uses a 3.8L in the ford mustang. I have a 2000 that I am currently selling. And I currently own a gp with the well known 3.8L. I am trying to figure out are they basically the same? Or is there some big difference? Anyone who knows alot about ford engines feel free to through an answer this way. |

They are two very different motors. The only thing in common is they are 3.8L motors. |

if memory serves me correctly ford no longer uses pushrods and gm still uses pushrods. Also I believe that ford's distributor is in the front of the engine and gm no longer uses a distributor. Ford Sucks! GM RULES! As far as internals and stroke and bore difference between the engines I have no idea. |

FYI, Ford pretty much dissected the GM 3800 and copied it for their T-bird SC. It's not that different, but different enough. |
